Which Rom Com You Should Watch Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Everyone loves a good rom com, but why not optimize your movie choice with some astrological advice? Luckily, I've consulted the stars to guide you toward your next cinema selection! 

Aries: Monster In Law

Jennifer Lopez’s character, Charlie, has a passionate, fast-paced love affair with a doctor. The doctor’s famous and iconic mother is played by Jane Fonda. Not only will every Aries enjoy the love at first sight storyline, but they will also relate to the stubborn characters, and hilarious bickering between J.Lo and Jane Fonda’s characters. Aries are born fighters, so this film perfectly captures a ram in love.

Taurus: Maid in Manhattan

I swear this list will not be exclusively J.Lo movies, but Maid in Manhattan is a match made in Taurean heaven! Ruled by Venus, they love LOVE and do not shy away from indulging in material possessions. When Ralph Fienne’s character first meets J.Lo’s character, he assumes that she’s also a guest at the luxury hotel. In reality, she works as a maid. Afraid of what he will think if he knows the truth, JLO’s character pretends to be the rich guest she is used to serving. Stepping out of the shadows and into the spotlight, she chases the love that she deserves. What Taurus wouldn’t also live out their rich girl fantasy to find true love?!

Gemini: She’s the Man

When Amanda Byne’s character is rejected from the men's soccer team at her high school, she teaches them a lesson by posing as her twin brother Sebastian on the rival soccer team. Geminis, the two-faced icons, will appreciate the duality of Amanda’s character! After Amanda assumes the role of Sebastian, feelings get complicated and love hexagons begin to form. Only a Gemini could thrive in this drama! This film is fun, quirky, and a little outrageous…which is the essence of a Gemini’s heart. 

Cancer: 27 Dresses

This may be a little stereotypical, but Cancer’s are one of the most (if not THE most) caring signs of the zodiac, often labeled “the mom” of the group. Without a doubt, Cancers have no problem relating to Katherine Hiegle’s character in 27 Dresses. As a wedding planner and a serial bridesmaid, she's used to prioritizing other people’s happy moments until James Marsden’s character rocks her world. 

Leo: Wild Child

Leos are confident, eccentric, and know who they are! In Wild Child, Emma Robert’s character gets sent to boarding school in England because her father believes she needs some discipline. Upon entering the boarding school, Emma struggles a bit. However, she quickly falls into the center of the spotlight (in true Leo fashion) and catches the attention of the dean’s son. This movie is surprisingly heartwarming and sweet, and perfectly represents a Leo in love. 

Virgo: The Ugly Truth

Much like Katherine Heigl’s character, Virgos are perfectionists and have high standards for themselves, as well as their potential partners (as they should)! In this love story, Heigl’s character’s soaring expectations are put to the ultimate test by Gerard Butler’s character, Mike. As Heigl ventures into the dating world to find her perfect man, she slowly catches feelings for the most unlikely romantic partner. Virgos easily resonate with this unique love story, as they tend to fall in love slowly and with a cautious heart.

Libra: When in Rome 

Libras are notorious hopeless romantics, which is why this movie is perfect for these Venus-ruled lovers. When in Rome follows the main character Beth, played by Kristen Bell, who is a cynic toward love, and would much rather invest time in her career. This mindset is challenged when she travels to Rome for her sister's wedding and picks magic coins from a fountain. All of a sudden, the owners of those coins chase Beth down to profess their love for her. Libras will appreciate the unyielding romantic suitors and their bold proclamations of love, as well as scenes of the beautiful Italian wedding. 

Scorpio: 10 Things I Hate About You

Let’s be real, who doesn’t love 10 Things I Hate About You! The movie follows two sisters, Kat Stafford played by Julia Stiles and Bianca Stratford played by Larisa Oleynik. Kat is stubborn, smart, and isn’t afraid to share her strong opinions. For this reason, she is widely disliked by the boys at their high school. This poses a problem when Bianca is romantically sought after, but cannot date until her sister does. Cue the new guy Patrick, played by Heath Ledger, who is paid to sweep Kat off her feet. A Scorpio would love this movie, as they will relate to the main character, Kat….and who doesn’t love Heath Ledger?! 

Sagittarius: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

As a Sagittarius venus, I can concur that any Sag would die for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. It has adventure, travel, multiple love interests, passion, and humor…everything that embodies a true Sagittarius! This second installment follows a young Donna as she travels across Europe by herself after graduating from college. Through her trip, she meets three men: Harry, Bill, and Sam. As Donna’s story unfolds, her daughter, Sophie, is pregnant in the present time in the same place her mother was pregnant with her. To feel more connected with her mother, Sophie renovates her mother's dream taverna all while reconnecting with her mother’s old friends, as well as her fathers. 

Capricorn: The Proposal

Although this is not a well-known Capricorn trait, I happen to think they are the funniest sign of the zodiac, which is why I couldn’t help but choose The Proposal. This movie follows Margaret, played by Sandra Bullock, and Andrew, played by Ryan Reynolds. When Margaret’s position at her job is threatened due to an expired visa, she decides the only way to prevent being deported is to marry her employee, Andrew. In order to convince government officials that her marriage to Andrew is real and legal, she must travel with Andrew to visit his family in Alaska. Capricorns will appreciate Margaret's ambition, and will adore the hilarious Betty White, who plays Andrew’s grandmother. 

Aquarius: Bridget Jones’s Diary

Bridget Jones’s Diary + Aquarians = an iconic duo. Bridget Jones is quirky and isn’t afraid to put herself out there. She also boasts a generous heart and unapologetic individuality, which are both admirable Aquarian qualities. In the first installment of the series, Bridget must choose between her boss Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, who seems to be the perfect man, or Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth, who is her complete opposite. 

Pisces: Crazy, Stupid, Love

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a classic, feel-good movie! The film follows multiple love stories and complicated relationships, but the movie’s main attraction is the relationship between Hannah and Jacob, played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Jacob is the typical player who decides to help newly divorced Cal become a player as well. However, Jacob’s views on love transform when he meets Hannah. This movie has it all, from humorous moments to heart-warming friendships and romantic connections - all of which will tug on those Pisces heartstrings.

There's no going wrong when it comes to choosing a rom com. What's not to love about a some lighthearted romance?! Hopefully, my advice helps you find your perfect movie match. But to be honest, there's no need to fret. I rate ALL of these movies a solid 10/10.
