The Zodiac Signs' Biggest Flaws + Some Much Needed Advice

EVERYONE has their flaws. And with the signs, this is no different. There's always some glaring hangup or deep, hidden secrets locked away that each sign needs a little help sorting through.

If you could figure out your biggest problem in life and actually change it…would you? You may think you know where you struggle in life, but don’t you want a more detailed analysis from a total stranger who knows nothing about you besides your zodiac sign, instead? WE THOUGHT SO.

Astrology is a great place for introspection, particularly when it comes to sun signs aka your basic identity. Recognizing our flaws is not comfortable, but being self-aware can help. And yes, our flaws are often connected to our strengths and that makes it hard for us to completely overcome them, but awareness is what keeps us from letting our flaws overpower our experiences. 

So let's dive in!

Aries, we all know that stereotypically, you're a bit ‘me oriented’. And this can make you a bit volcanic when things don’t go your way. You also like being in charge, which can make you seem dismissive of others' ideas. And of course this can lead to impulsive decisions you may later regret...whoops.

You’re the ultimate fire sign and that means you have a strong will. You are born to lead and be brave. But, you’ve got quite the temper. And yes, we know it’s because you're deeply passionate have a deep desire to succeed. You put in so much work and time into seeing your goals and ambitions through. But you gotta learn to cool down a bit, take a moment to breathe.

You have such a dominant personality and that makes you naturally stubborn, but it's also why you’re such a badass at leading others. Just remember, good leaders aren’t meant to be tyrants, so check your fiery side at the door and remember that it sometimes takes time to get to where you want to go.

You are the first born, the baby of the zodiac, so you love to be recognized for everything. You make sure in any situation that your voice is heard and your ideas are  communicated. But this need to chase validation can come off self-centered, pushing people away, meaning you aren't going to get that much-loved attention. 

When you’re with your loved ones, don’t forget to ask them how they’re doing and LISTEN. You're a sign that needs to flex this sensory skill. And let your friends win sometimes! Use that passionate competitor inside you to support others to succeed. Plus, all that argumentativeness could be used to stand up for people you love which could in turn strengthen your relationships, yeah?

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Your flaws: Cautious, antisocial, and lazy

Taurus, you're practical. The problem here is that a practical nature, if maintained to an extreme, can make you seem too keen to play it safe, spend time by yourself 24/7 and maybe even get a bit...lazy. 

AND you're stubborn AF, so you’ll refuse invites from friends just to spend time alone whenever you feel like it. Netflix > Bumble is your motto.

Your stubbornness comes out when you refuse to see the worth of others’ opinions simply because they’re not the same as yours. Your strict values include personal morality and a strong worth ethic, but also encompass your attitude towards your valuables and possessions. So naturally, you assume your truth/reality is the only truth and thus, you lose respect for people who don’t think like you do. 

So let’s reframe stubbornness. Because it’s not necessarily a bad thing—it just means you tend to get things done and done correctly. Just don’t block out feedback and insist on doing things your own way 24/7 because that’s gonna hold you back. Be more open to intimacy! Let those around you feel, think, and act how they want to without your silently/obviously judging them with your strange passive aggressive lectures and glances. You might learn something! Being a bit more flexible with others by sharing ideas will make your relationships more fun and valuable.

Just remember that patience, reliability, and sensitivity makes you a good friend, but it can also make you a little possessive. We know you put so much effort into your relationships, but expecting the same in return is often unrealistic. Don’t be the uncompromising, jealous friend. Not everyone is as great a BFF as you. Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Your flaws: Constantly repeat, liars, and poor listeners

Gemini, you’re a social butterfly that makes friends wherever you go because you’re outgoing, bubbly, and super smart. But you’re the type of person who repeats the same story over and over, forever, til the end of time. And you love a good lie. LOVE a good lie. So sometimes, you just aren’t a good listener.

Your sign gets dragged through the mud for being two-faced, because, well, you are. You switch your thoughts and opinions up so much that you’re basically 2 different people, sometimes 4, or 6… You have this super short attention span and live in the moment so your personality changes wherever you are and whomever you’re with. You also love analyzing your environment, people, and you soak up information like a sponge. So whilst you’re a great networker and party-goer, and have tons of friends, many have difficulty forming solid relationships with you because you change all the damn time. Some may call you superficial, because you’re not the best at remembering plans or having too deep a deep conversation.

But just because you have the two-faced label doesn’t mean you’re fake. You’re actually one of the most authentic signs out there, unafraid to express yourself. We just ask you to work a little harder to build solid connections by living for more than just the moment.

Make a plan, commit to something, put it in your Google Calendar or whatever. Try to have longer one-on-one chats, without going off on a tangent or zoning out. These actions only reinforce to those around you that you’re not reliable or that you don't care.

Your duality is both good and bad. On one hand you’re curious, always learning and asking questions. You’re never bored because you see everything as a new adventure. But you’re also super restless. You have a hard time staying satisfied, moving from one thing to the next, looking for a bit of contentment. So naturally, you’re unpredictable which is fun, adventurous, frustrating and... inconsistent. 

Just make sure you don’t ruin a good thing because you’re bored. You might have that itch to leave, but it’s important to look inward and ask yourself if that’s what’s really best for you. Try sticking around and see what happens!

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Your flaws:  Moody, afraid to leave the nest, and unable to let go

Cancer, you’re adorable, imaginative, creative, that sensitive artist we all wanted to date in high school. But being so in touch with your emotions definitely has its fallbacks. 

You’re kinda moody, with the ability to quickly switch from excitement to devastation in a matter of seconds. It’s low-key terrifying.

You’re also pretty insecure and suspicious of everyone. It doesn’t take much for you to think someone is betraying you. One wrong step and you go AWOL, overcome by betrayal and suspicion.

And we get it, your emotions are hard to deal with and so hard to stop, but doing so will be best, since loved ones can sometimes be exhausted by your changing moods. You’re sensitive and nurturing but you’re also winy if you don’t like something. AND your loyal nature can give you a pretty unhealthy need to hold on to the past which can keep you from moving forward...

Cancer, your empathy is through the roof--it’s where your natural intuition and nurturing instincts come from. You often find yourself being the caregiver of your group, making people naturally want to be in your presence. Your loving nature is one of your greatest assets, and your ability to take care of people is second to none, which is one of the reasons your sign is so adored!

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Your flaws: Egotistic, vain, and dramatic

Leo, it’s your world and we’re just living in it. You’re the passionate, happy, funny friend we all want to be. People love being around you because you light up every room. And you draw everyone in like a moth to a flame. 

But with every positive, there’s the negative--even for Leo. Because in case it wasn’t obvious, you’re not always the star of the show.

You can be pretty self-involved. That comes from your extreme pride and arrogance. We don’t blame you. Everyone loves you, so we get that it’s easy to be arrogant. But this attitude can make you pretty possessive. You often think that you should be front and center ALL. THE. TIME.

But you’re not the MOST important thing in everyone’s lives. Not everyone deserves your undying attention. We love you, Leo. We just don't love you that much.

So let’s do some personal development work here. You don’t need to worry about being likable. Your sign is one of the most lovable, because you’re ruled by the sun, the source of energy and life of the cosmos. Plus you’re generous, creative, a natural leader, so you’ve got it all. No need to worry or post about it on Instagram, k?

Once you make things about you, you turn everyone off. Demanding for attention makes you seem like an egomaniac--and to be fair, you do have the biggest ego in the zodiac, and the most fragile, even more so than Aries. You feel you need to feel noticed to be validated, but showboating just for the sake of being in the spotlight isn’t the best way to get that approval you so desperately desire. And because you’re such a great admirer of theater, sometimes you play a different role and fabricate personality traits that you think are likable. Yeah, don’t do that.

Give others the chance to shine. You need to make a humble pie, packed with a healthy dose of consideration and realism. Keep in mind that being the truest version of you will help strengthen your relationships. When someone truly close to you tells you how supportive you make them feel, you’ll see that it’s way more satisfying than showing off for a crowd.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Your flaws: Knit-picky, detail-oriented, and sloppy

Virgo, you’re so nice, or well, you try to be…we think. 

Simply put, you're a perfectionist who holds yourself and everyone else to an impossibly high standard. So when others don’t live up to your standards, you can be very harsh, dismissive, and cold with them. 

You need to learn to let both yourself and others off the hook from time to time. No one is perfect, especially not you. We’re all human! 

Virgos are routine and habit driven. They like things to 'be a certain way' — meaning their way. So they have a strong desire to know all the details before they dive into something, meaning even though they appear clean and put together, something in their life is sloppy because they’re so overwhelmed with too many minute details.

Plus that detail-oriented side can make you pretty controlling, so you often come off as obsessive, fixating on the tiniest of details. Sometimes you use that for good, like in work, or to help your loved ones, but then you overextend yourself, forgetting about your self-care, even though no one asked you to. Stop pretending you deserve recognition for doing something good. Plus, who wants someone taking care of them that endlessly criticizes?

Trust us, people don’t want to constantly hear what they’re doing wrong and if you criticize them enough, they’ll eventually peace out. We get it, you’ve “done so much for them” and they “don’t appreciate it”, but nobody cares. Learn to use your attentiveness to focus on the positives in others. Make sure people want your feedback before you offer it. As astrologer Jodie Forrest says, “sometimes ‘perfect’ is the enemy of ‘good enough’”. Learn to give out some praise every now and then!

Take a nap, reset, and stop being so vicious. It’s not fair to those around you, or yourself. 

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Your flaws: Indecisive, conflict-avoidant, and easily distracted

Our social butterfly--the biggest “people person” ever. Libra, it’s so easy for you to make friends and keep them. You fit in anywhere, into any group and people love how fancy, fabulous and charming you are. 

You’re just so darn diplomatic and love to see all sides before making decisions. So fair-minded, with an ability to resolve conflicts just by turning on your charm, making you a perfect asset to your friend group and in social gatherings.

But unfortunately for you, indecisiveness just isn’t very cute nor productive. You often get paralyzed with the weight of decision-making, endlessly considering your options. Yes, being considerate is cool, but you can be too considerate sometimes, manipulated by those close to you. Beware of people trying to take advantage of you--cause it happens a lot.

Yes, you should consider all options, but you gotta follow your gut. Trusting your gut could lead to faster decision making skills and to less outside manipulation. Stay diplomatic, but don’t let anyone take advantage of that.

We say Gemini is the two-faced one but your sign is the flighty and superficial one. You’re a natural people pleaser, so when your super-social nature turns into morphing into different people depending on who you’re with, sh*t gets messy. Especially when it comes to romance where you might feel like you need to stir up some trouble in order to be fulfilled or whatever -- aka flirty flirty. 

Your sign can be pretty codependent too which is why you love relationships, but it’s important for you to make sure people aren’t held accountable for your well being. 

You love people, but don’t mold your personality depending on who’s around to satisfy your FOMO. No need to act a certain way--you are pretty awesome and people will see that if you can just be yourself.

Let people earn you! This will help you better figure out which side of the argument you fall on. Cause being indecisive is annoying, okay?

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Your flaws: Manipulative, hostile, and vengeful

Scorpio, you're passionate. When you love something or someone, it’s your everything, or whatever. And that’s great…except we’re not living in a Shakespearean world.

You often cross over into the realm of being obsessive. If someone is at the center of your desire. This obsessive nature can make you pretty possessive, jealous, and suspicious of your loved ones...just like Cancer.

Your sign loves mysteries and is a natural at getting to the bottom of things. You find a deeper meaning in everything and are magnetically drawn to anything shrouded in secrecy. But there’s not always hidden symbolism or underlying motives to something, no matter how hard you try to find them. 

Your need to be in control and seek the “truth” is why you get so freaking paranoid, scheming to make sure things go your way, always worried about motive or whatever. Save that shit for SVU. And cool off the inappropriate questions and psychoanalysis when you first meet someone. Remember to take it easy and realize that not everyone is out to get you.

Now if someone “wrongs you”, we get it, but you take it a bit too far. The obsession is so much worse. You get real Love from YOU on us. Resentful, bitter, kind of “I wanna murder you in a sexy way” vibes. But don’t let your passion turn into a negative. Keep your obsession for things…positive.

Scorpio, you know what you want and you’re willing to work hard to get it. Just make sure to keep that intensity at a healthy level. It will help you build everlasting trust with yourself and your loved ones. And don’t assume everyone is out to get you! Let people in with an open heart!

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Your flaws: Too energetic, unpredictable, and loud

Our little wanderluster. Sag, you're idealistic and generous. So your view of the world is a bit distorted. That's what makes you so adventurous, brave, and disarming.

You have this perfect vision in your head of what you want, so if things don’t go that way, you get disappointed, and bored with reality. 

Because of this you lack a lot of patience and don’t enjoy commitment. It’s just not fun, right? Your impatience leads you to hop from one project or adventure to the next, and you never like to let things run their course for too long. 

Maybe instead of hopping on to the next train, you try and finish the ride. You never know. It could lead to better results!

You’re charismatic, witty and a great story-teller (and liar). You’re used to people listening to you, because you’re so excited. But that know-it-all thing is something you should take a look at. We get it, you know things, you’ve experienced things, but the preachiness is annoying. No one asked for your opinion. For a sign that’s supposed to love learning, you sometimes talk over others a lot and dismiss any ideas or beliefs different from your own. 

This makes you look conceited and pretentious. It’s hypocritical to label your worldview as fact and then immediately reject anyone who believes otherwise. Saying “I’m just being honest!” isn’t a good-enough reason to explain why you continue to denounce others’ different points of view. Experiencing things first hand isn’t the only way to learn. 

Try listening to others and learn to talk with them rather than at them. You can absorb so much just from hearing others’ stories and ideas, and even if you don’t like what they have to say, you can politely agree to disagree. 

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Your flaws: Self-righteous, judgmental, and cold

Cap, you’re responsible, self-controlled, disciplined. Rules matter to you and you honor them so hard. You’re the stable, un-phased one that everyone can depend on.

But while this control can appear responsible, it’s kind of not. Do whatever you want with your own self-control. You do you boo. But don’t assume everyone else  wants the same attention. Trying to control other people will make them want to run far away. 

You're a dedicated, disciplined person, driven to accomplish your goals and work hard. You lead by example and take initiative in all aspects of life. But you’re so uptight! You gotta learn to let go a bit. Your sign is the hardest worker in the zodiac and definitely the most serious. Very “all work, no play.” 

Your reputation is very important to you. But that can also make you pretty self-righteous, believing you are the only one with the right answer. So you end up looking down on others who don’t work as hard or as long as you do. And then you get all unfeeling because you’re so focused on yourself and your drive or whatever. 

All that drive and motivation is what can make you so Type a, with no tolerance for surprises. Then you’ve all cold and distant, so people find you unapproachable, and robotic. And we know you don’t mean to, but that strictness makes others feel stifled and like they can’t be around you if they want to have a good time...

You need to seriously loosen up! Separate yourself from your job when you aren’t there. Why don’t you take a day off every now and then? You can still be as serious as you want in your career, but understand that success feels empty if other parts of your life are empty. 

Just like your symbol the goat, you love being at the top of the mountain. And yes, the view is nice up there, but remember, it’s so much nicer when you have people to share it with. 

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Your flaws: Impatient, stubborn, and emotional

Aqua, you're the progressive, OG humanitarian of the zodiac. Very independent, always thinking for yourself. But your inventive way of thinking can also make you a bit of an... extremist. Because, well, your ideas and theories are pretty extreme. And this can be polarizing. 

You can also be quite detached and unemotional. You’d rather spend your time learning than feeling. But emotions are beautiful and meant to be explored. Plus, there’s a middle ground. You don’t have to go all in like Cancer.

It can frustrate you when people don’t share or conceive your sense of logic. So you often lack patience, deeming people “unintelligent” or “close-minded”. You're all about individualism and so hard to tie down because you're stubborn. And yeah maybe you don’t think of yourself as stubborn, but when we try to have a political discussion with you...Oh. My. God. 

And lest we not forget about your explosive feeling that burst out at any given time? You're the type who will go out, get shit faced, come home, blurt out your feelings, and so not want to talk about it the next day. 

Aqua, you could learn a lot from your neighbor, Capricorn. Rules help us stay consistent and with order, comes consistency. Try listening a bit more, sticking around for a little longer, and be more present! We get you want to be a rebel, but the world deserves to know you as a friend, confidant, and the beautiful weirdo that you are.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Your flaws: Project guilt onto others, take on other people’s problems, and impractical

Our little love bug. That other kid in high school you regret crushing on. Imaginative, artistic, Pisces. You have such a strong intuition and connect with people on such a deep level. 

But that daydreaming thing you do that we all found cute in high school gets real, old real fast. Instead of dealing with real life, you’d rather avoid it, and pretend to live in a perfect fairy tale.

You’re also pretty indecisive, like our dear Libra, because, again, you don’t want to deal with reality. This avoidant behavior results in some hesitation, instead of going for what you want in life. 

If you want something, speak up and go for it! Yes, the world is a cold, heartless place and escaping can be nice, but don’t let that get in the way from pursuing your dreams. You’re literally meant to dream, so do that but like, productively. 

Try not to be so let down when things don't go your way. It’s okay to recognize that life is hard, but don’t let it hit you like a ton of bricks and burry you. It’s gonna make you crazy and project this weird existential guilt onto other people. And that makes you seem self-involved, which you so aren't.

Little fishy, it’s time to wake up! You’re locked away in your own little world. And no matter how hard others try to get you to focus or hold you down, you slip away, disappearing into one of your Pisces Freeze episodes. But don’t be a flake. You’re so much more emotionally available than any other sign. Like, you get it. 

What does your own little world feel like? How does it differ from reality? Make real-world changes so you won’t have to escape so much. When you’re living on a different frequency than everyone else, you can’t connect and share all the love and feelings you have to offer.

You visualize a perfect world that could really make a difference —so don’t keep your vision locked up inside your head! Try to come up for air more often!
